Wining & Dining at Hotel Dragon:
The multi-cuisine restaurant here has dishes that span the kitchens
across the world – Chinese, Tibetan, Indian, Continental and needless
to mention, local Ladakhi food. You will notice some classic paintings
at the dining hall here. They are painted by none other than one of the
hotel’s owners – Ghulam Mustafa. The Bar shelves an exquisite
collection of cocktails.

PROFILE
Not many hotels or guesthouses existed before Ladakh was put on the
international tourist map. The first few hotels in Leh town of Ladakh
came up early in the year 1974,when for the first time Ladakh was thrown
open to tourists from all over the world. The opening up of Ladakh for
tourists also marked the entry of entrepreneurs in the field of
establishment and running of hotels to cater to the growing needs of the
tourists.
Hotel Dragon in Leh town of Ladakh was the brainchild of one such
enterprising man named Din Mohammad of the Abdu family.With humble
beginnings Hotel Dragon today is a fully loaded hotel in Ladakh with all
facilities. Those were the days when the number of people coming from
foreign countries was just a trickle. How ever this was to change
dramatically in the following years necessitating increase in
accomodation and expansion in facilities for the comfort of the
tourists.
Pioneers in the
tourism industry in Leh, the capital of Ladakh, ours is a family
business. We run our hotel, Hotel Dragon in Ladakh and travel agency,
Adventure North, involving the entire family. We extend this feeling of
warmth and intimacy to our guests to whom we are a home away from home.
Mr. Din Mohammad of the Abdu family who spearheads the business, is ably
backed by his two sons. Ghulam Mustafa with his background in fine arts,
has introduced the famous Rabsal tradition of Ladakhi architecture in
the hotel. Ghulam Mohiuddin heads the travel agency. Right from the
conceptualization of routes to the execution and planning of new routes
and destinations is done by him.
