What is % of the initial amount ?

    Answer:

Example 1: What is [      20 ] % of the initial amount [       1000  ]?

    Answer: [          200 ]
Example 1a: So to calculate a [ 20 ] % Percentage increase : [ 1000 ] + [ 200 ] = [ 1200 ]
Example 1b: So to calculate a [ 20 ] % Percentage decrease : [ 1000 ] - [ 200 ] = [   800 ]

Or...

Result amount is what percent of initial amount ?

    Answer: %
Example 2:
Initial amount is [ 1000 ] however, after an unknown percentage has been added the new total is [ 1200 ]

What Percentage was used ?

Answer:
                                        New Total    Original    Difference
First calculate the difference : [ 1200 ] -  [ 1000 ] =  [ 200 ]

Result amount [         200 ] is what percent of initial amount [        1000  ]?

    Answer: [    20  ] %
