A Brief Guide To Our Bespoke Choomti Tours...

Your Journey of India...

Generally we recommend a minimum stay of two nights at all destinations; usually we reserve standard rooms though suites may be available at an additional cost.

At most destinations, we have selected three types of hotels: viz. Luxury, Deluxe and Standard.

Though prices will vary even within types, all hotels recommended by us, are inspected by us on a regular basis.

Most journeys will be a maximum of 6 hours travelling by road, with your own Driver and car, either
Air-Conditioned (AC) or Non-Air-Conditioned (Non-AC), we believe that travelling by road, though never relaxing, offers the closest insight to Indian life.

Travel and Journeys:
Most of our journeys are made with your own car and driver who is available to you at all times.  Only for very long journeys do we recommend travel by air.  Driving, though never relaxing, is the best way to see Indian life.  In the major destinations you can (if pre-arranged) receive the services of a knowledgeable English-speaking guide.

All our journeys are as a result of our personal knowledge and the experience and feedback from our clients.  We have selected comfortable, clean hotels, with a distinctive Indian or colonial atmosphere rather than the 5 star chain hotel; though some of the converted palaces and forts and deluxe hotels of the metropolitan cities should be experienced.

It should be remembered that although some of the hotels will be the best available, converted from palaces and grand homes; the electricity may be erratic, hot water may be delivered in buckets by your bearer and that service will be friendly rather than professional.

Generally we recommend "room only" to allow you full flexibility.  However, wildlife parks and some out of the way places provide "full board" only.
  Pricing
Choomti's Pricing Guide :
Please remember that Choomti do not arrange International Flights on behalf of clients.  Choomti do not publish prices on our website as they can vary enormously for tailor-made travel.  To give you an idea of the prices to expect, allow from GB£1,500 to GB£4,000  and above per person for a typical two-week itinerary, depending on the area visited.

Prices are generally for private arrangements and are per person using economy class internal flights, based on two people travelling together and sharing a room.

There are a number of factors which will influence the price of your travel arrangements, these include the standard of hotel (we offer a variety of standards from ‘three star’ to the super-luxurious), the season, the duration of your trip, the class of flights and the airline used, the level of private guiding and the complexity of the itinerary. Our specialists will be delighted to discuss the various options in more detail with you...

Check In/Out Times :
Usually 12 noon.

Reservations :
Early booking is essential in the high season October to March.

Extending our Tours :
Though we do specialise mainly on India, we can arrange extensions to Nepal.

Heritage Hotels:

Many hotels in Rajasthan, Himachal, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala and Tamil Nadu offer you a chance to live with and experience the lives of former princes and landowners.

"Bespoke" not "Rigid" Tours :
There are many Indian Tour companies out there in the marketplace, however most of them insist that you book their rigid, tried and trusted tour, you will then be forced to wear their dreadful "logo-ed" cagoule with a matching baseball cap and follow like trotting sheep an over-cheerful, overly chatty, holiday guide/shepherd, with your kindergarten name badge pinned to your chest.

We believe at Choomti that you are looking for a little more independence, and don't want to follow the flock...

Our speciality is to design tour as per your requirements...

However, please do understand that we are only interested in arranging your whole tour - We are not a booking office and therefore would not be interested in just booking the odd hotel or train ticket for you.

Listed below are some Example Tour ideas for you to consider, just email us, or fill out our comprehensive online enquiry form and tell us what your more exacting requirements are, and we will email you back with a quotation for the cost of your chosen tour...

Our Tours :
Apart from our short 3 night "Gateways to India" City tours, our tours are of between 5 to 14 days and are designed to explore the history, the culture, the flora and fauna of India and to experience something of the lives of the Indian people.
